Even though I am not particularly fond of winter and its bare grey nature, I have a strong strange attraction to bare trees. Once all the leaves have fallen off the branches become visible. Showing their strange deformed, twists and turns created by the forces of nature.

Somehow I connect the winding maze with what I feel the human mind looks like. A chaotic mass of kinks created by our experiences, emotions, imagination and whatever else deforms and colors our thoughts.

When looking at those trees, standing naked in the cold of winter, I can feel both their pain and their strength. While looking at them they slowly reveil their story through the images formed by their twined branches. The twists and crinkles start to make sense.

How could I resist trying to capture their story with my camera.....
